Current Industry Landscape

January has ushered in record beef prices in the UK, reflecting a significant increase compared to the same period last year.

In Europe, Germany has reported its first outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in nearly 40 years, detected in a herd of water buffalo near Berlin. Authorities have implemented strict measures to contain the outbreak, including culling affected animals and establishing exclusion zones. As of 14 January, no further cases have been detected. Although we only use British pork obviously this has brought an increase on pricing of pork worldwide.

Additionally, avian influenza continues to impact farms across the East Coast, posing challenges to poultry producers in the region.

Our Initiatives for 2025

In response to these developments and in our commitment to excellence, we are excited to share our plans for the year ahead:

Strengthening Supplier Relationships: We will continue to nurture our partnerships with local farms and actively seek new suppliers to enhance our beef offerings, ensuring quality and sustainability.

Expanding Our Sausage Range: We are exploring new and exciting flavors for our sausage selection. Your suggestions are invaluable to us; please share any flavor ideas you’d love to see.

Resuming In-House Courses: We are delighted to announce the return of our in-house courses, providing hands-on learning experiences for enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Enhancing Catering Services: Our outdoor catering services, including hog roasts, Asado fire cooking, and a new catering trailer, will be available throughout the year to make your events memorable.

Educational Content: We will be producing new educational reels, offering tips on cuts of meat and cooking techniques to inspire your culinary adventures.

We are committed to adapting to the evolving landscape and continuing to provide exceptional products and services. Your feedback and support are the cornerstones of our progress.
